Three centuries have passed since humanity planted its first flag on the Moon, and space is no longer a dream, it’s a frontier. Lunar bases have spread, orbital stations have multiplied, and Earth-Moon travel has become routine. But the Moon was only the beginning. The next step is farther, harsher, more expensive… and far more symbolic: Mars. In Race to Mars, each player leads a private space company in a global race to be the first to reach the Red Planet. The game is a fast roll & write with a twist: instead of everyone simply using the same dice results, the dice represent limited actions and resources that all players must share. Each round, a pool of dice is rolled, and players secretly and simultaneously choose how to claim and combine them, trying to predict what others will do before revealing choices and writing results on their personal board. To win, you must build the smartest route to Mars by balancing three key priorities: Travel to push your mission forward, Upgrade your spaceship to improve efficiency and unlock better options, and Research to gain powerful advantages and long-term momentum. With asymmetric characters adding unique strengths, every decision matters and reading your opponents can be the difference between a clean landing… and a mission that takes just a little too long. —description from the designer
