A whisper on dying lips. A badly scratched map. Everyone received a tip to join the hunt for the abandoned gold convoy. But are they ready to face what caused the disappearance of so many souls? The desert shows no mercy to the foolish or the greedy… Forgotten West is a miniature-agnostic wargame where you can use any miniatures you like to depict the contents of the book. Players alternate by activating one model at a time, performing actions like shooting, looting, or jumping on a horse for a quick escape. You won’t only have to worry about your opponent, as enemy hostiles follow a scripted algorithm designed to disrupt your plans. Up to two players can join forces to survive the unforgiving desert, or compete against each other to claim the gold said to lie deep beneath its dunes. Create a band of five outlaws and play through a ten-scenario campaign in search of a lost convoy. Watch your gang ride through the desert as it amasses riches, wounds, and experience by surviving violent shootouts, growing better at what they do, until the bitter end. If a full campaign is too much, the game also offers the option to randomly generate self-contained scenarios that can be played in a quick, single session. —description from the designer
