In this 2-player board game, you immerse yourself in 16th- and 17th-century Europe, a time when old certainties were crumbling and new ideas spread at an unprecedented pace. This flow of ideas fueled unrest across a continent already torn by religious and political tensions, such as during the Protestant Reformation. The Catholic Church watched with growing concern as heretical and innovative pamphlets stirred minds and challenged centuries-old authority. In Ink & Inquisition, you choose your role in this ideological battleground. Play as a philosopher, spreading forbidden knowledge, protecting controversial books, and reshaping the thinking of Europe. Or take on the role of an inquisitor, enforcing orthodoxy: track down heresy, exert influence in major cities, and suppress dangerous ideas before they take root. Call upon influential figures from this turbulent era, such as Desiderius Erasmus or Galileo Galilei, or seek the support of powerful popes and monarchs determined to crush intellectual dissent at its source.
