Spears of Valour: Warbands is a stand-alone skirmish version of the mass battle game. Everything needed to play Warbands is contained in this book - rules, army lists and spell lores. The world of Valaya is also presented at the end of the book for players who want to set their games in an original Epic Fantasy setting. In Warbands players can field armies of between 10-100 models and a standard game takes about an hour. Models are based individually and can be between 15mm to 28mm. The Warbands engine is similar to it's predecessor but has a few alterations to account for skirmish combat. Units move in loose groups, models may attack enemies within a 1" melee range instead of fighting in three ranks, there are a few extra special rules and details, morale has been tinkered with and new magick weapons have been introduced.
